History

 

Ciaran first came up with the idea of owning his own radio station after doing a little bit of work for a small Christian radio. He worked there for about 3/4 of a year before realising that he could achieve the same and started planning and buying equipment.

 

He designed and made the logo himself using free software called Gimp. He then went on to build this website for free using a site called WIX. His idea was soon becoming a reality. He then started focusing on gear!

 

His first bit of gear was a Behringer Xenyx QX1204 USB mixer. It was perfect. With four xlr mic inputs and two or three other inputs it would handle the duty well! He then discovered his family’s old computer up in the loft. He had the idea to use it as a music automation computer. He was very surprised to find that it turned on and secondly that it had Windows Me or in other words Windows 2000. It was very old but he found some software he could use and moved it, and the mixer, to his studio which his dad had built him two years previously as a place to hang out with his friends.

  

He realised how hard it would be to start broadcasting an FM radio with transmitters and other similar equiptment. He decided that he would run an internet station for a while before hand to try to raise money to afford the expensive equipment required.
